The Pre-Congress Teaching Course will take place virtually on 21st September 2021. Please access the virtual platform and once you have entered the virtual congress lobby find your way to the Live Auditorium where you will find the lectures on the day. If you are viewing ‘on demand’ after this, then the content will be in the ‘Scientific Programme and On Demand’ menu.
The 1-day course programme can be found below. Please note, all times stated in the programme are in British Summer Time (BST).
The vast majority of the scientific content and exhibition booths will be available on demand for a period of 3 months after the meeting ends for registered participants only (until midnight GMT on Friday 24 December 2021), unless speakers/presenters/exhibitors have requested their content/recording be removed 2 weeks post-congress. Most of the content will be available via the WMS website https://www.worldmusclesociety.org/ for WMS members to access at a future date.
The Pre-Congress Teaching Course content will move to the WMS Website for WMS members to access after the end of October 2021.

You can book your course attendance during your Congress registration. Only delegates who have pre-booked the course will be given access to this material during the Congress week.
To improve the diagnostic competence of professionals dealing with patients with neuromuscular diseases.
Medical specialists (paediatricians, neurologists, paediatric neurologists, geneticists, neuropathologists) and medical specialists in training, and other attendees of the WMS congress.
The emphasis of this course will be on the clinical approach of patients who present with symptoms of a neuromuscular disease. The course will start with an introduction part, followed by 10 educational case presentations covering most common neuromuscular phenotypes.
There will be the opportunity to discuss the integrated diagnostic approach to patients shown on video, to look at muscle MRI imaging, neurophysiology, or muscle biopsies.
Upon completion, participants should be able to better recognize a number of important neuromuscular presentations; incorporate up-to-date diagnostic approaches to the patient suspected of a neuromuscular disease; consider the differential diagnosis; apply appropriate tests.
