Certificate of Attendance

The WMS 2021 Virtual Congress has been accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®) for a maximum of 14 European CME credits (ECMEC®s). A per-day breakdown of credits is available below.

Each medical specialist should claim only those credits that they actually spent in the educational activity.

Accreditation Statement and Credit Designation

Accreditation by the EACCME® confers the right to place the following statement in all communication materials including the event website, the event programme and the certificate of attendance. The following statements must be used without revision:

“The WMS 2021 Virtual Congress, Virtual Congress, United Kingdom, 20/09/2021-24/09/2021 has been accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®) with 14 European CME credits (ECMEC®s). Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.”

“Through an agreement between the Union Européenne des Médecins Spécialistes and the American Medical Association, physicians may convert EACCME® credits to an equivalent number of AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Information on the process to convert EACCME® credit to AMA credit can be found at www.ama-assn.org/education/earn-credit-participation-international-activities.

“Live educational activities, occurring outside of Canada, recognised by the UEMS-EACCME® for ECMEC®s are deemed to be Accredited Group Learning Activities (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.”



EACCME® credits

Each participant can only receive the number of credits they are entitled to according to their actual participation at the event once they have completed the feedback form. Cf. criteria 9 and 23 of UEMS 2016.20.

Educational Objectives

Attendees at the WMS Virtual Congress will come away having had many learning opportunities. The aims of the WMS, and therefore its annual congress, are:

a) to provide a multidisciplinary scientific forum to advance and disseminate knowledge in neuromuscular field for the benefit of patients.
b) to stimulate, encourage and help to develop programs for professionals working in the neuromuscular field
c) to encourage multidisciplinary collaboration
d) to provide opportunities for young investigators in the neuromuscular field
e) to promote the achievement of standards in clinical practice
 

This is all achieved through numerous E-poster discussion sessions throughout the programme where delegates at all stages of their career meet to discuss the latest science and research. Particular focus is placed on making sure the more senior attendees are very accessible to those starting out in their careers.

The virtual networking events are designed to be successful to encourage multidisciplinary collaboration.


Target Audience

This is the premier annual congress on neuromuscular disorders, attended by established and young physicians, researchers, therapists, geneticists and neuropathologists from all over the world. The congress also embraces the pharmacists from the industry and incorporates their latest developments into specific aspects of the congress programme. All healthcare professional interested in the neuromuscular field, including the different disciplines involved in the study of neuromuscular disorders and the management of patients with these disorders, are welcomed to the world muscle society annual meeting.

Credit Breakdown

The EACCME® awards ECMEC®s on the basis of 1 ECMEC® for one hour of CME with a maximum of 8 ECMEC®s per day. Cf. Chapter X of UEMS 2016.20.
