**Planned railway engineering works**
- We have been informed that Engineering work is taking place between Three Bridges and Brighton / Lewes closing all lines on Sunday 4th October 2015. Buses replace trains between Three Bridges and Brighton / Lewes. A reduced Thameslink service of two trains per hour will operate south of London St Pancras International. Please go to National Rail Enquiries for more information. Please allow extra time for your journey.
To ease the situation the WMS 2015 Congress will be providing coaches to transport delegates from the congress venue to Gatwick Airport leaving from 17:30. More details will be sent to delegates directly by email. From here you can transfer to Heathrow by either train or coach. It takes approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour to travel between Brighton and Gatwick depending on traffic. The coaches will drop off at the South Terminal to give easy access to the train station and the North Terminal, the Monorail Shuttle is by the entrance to the main station as well. The driver will drop at the Departures Level where the connections to Shuttle/Mainline Trains are as well as the flight departures.
There are frequent National Express coaches to London Victoria Station, and also to all London airports. They leave from Brighton Pool Valley Coach Station, very close to Brighton Dome.

Directions to Brighton Dome:

By Air
London Gatwick airport is approximately 30km north of the city and just 30 minutes away by train. Gatwick serves a huge array of national and international flights and has a south and a north terminal. Heathrow Airport is situated approximately 30km west of central London it is about a 90 minute journey from Brighton. The airport primarily serves long haul flights and serves most major carriers, including British Airways. The airport has 4 terminals. Terminals 1 and 3 are a short walk from each other, whilst terminals 4 and 5 are served by free trains and buses. Please click here for more details about these airports and other smaller airports nearby. For travelling to Brighton from the London Airports click here.

By Rail:
Brighton Railway Station is a 10-15 minute walk from the Brighton Dome with fast, regular services into Brighton from London (journey time just 52 minutes from Victoria or 56 minutes from London Bridge) and from along the coast. For up-to-the-minute travel information, visit Southern Railway or call National Rail Enquiries on +44 (0)8457 484950. From London the easiest route is by ThamesLink from London St Pancras Station. The journey takes about 1.5 hours.

By Bus/Coach:
The main bus station (Old Steine) is a 10-15 minute walk from the Brighton Dome. National Express not only offer services between LHR and LGW but also have a regular service from Heathrow to Brighton, finishing very centrally on the sea front (Pool Valley Coach Station, close to the central pier). It's about a 2hr15min journey avoiding the stairs and changing between underground and mainline trains etc.

More details at http://www.nationalexpress.com/. Taxis and local buses are readily available.

A prebooked taxi should cost around £100 from Heathrow to Brighton. This might be worth considering if there is a group travelling together.

By Car:
Brighton is approx. 40 miles from Junction 7 of the M25. From the M25 take the M23/A23 dual carriageway to Brighton. The A27 links Brighton with towns along the South Coast (including Newhaven (10 miles away) and Portsmouth 1 hour away). Continue south past Patcham, Withdean and Preston Park on your left. After passing under the viaduct you will reach Preston Circus (Duke of York’s Cinema and Fire Station on left).
