Poster Presentation

Poster presenters will have assigned times at which they will have to present and discuss the poster with other attendees of the poster session. Please see the programme for full details.

Poster set up: Posters are requested to be set up either on Tuesday 1st October 2019 between 14:00-17:00 or Wednesday 2nd October 2019 prior to the first morning tea/coffee break. A team of volunteers will be available to help you set up your poster in the correct location. Your poster number and location will be provided when you arrive on site. Poster presenters should include their email address and photo on the poster so that interested people can reach them during the congress (either embedded or separately attached). Authors are responsible for setting up and also removing their poster. The WMS Congress Secretariat will not be responsible for loss of the poster after removal time.

Poster printing: The congress has no facility or arrangement for poster printing. Attendees will need to make their own arrangements. If possible, please attach a photo of the presenting author on the poster (either included in the poster printing or separately attached).

Poster presentation during Saturday morning poster highlights session: Please can each poster presenter also prepare 3-5 PowerPoint slides (including introduction, main findings, main messages, acknowledgement) in case the poster is selected for a flash poster presentation during the last morning’s poster highlights session. Presenters will be informed by the WMS Committee via email the day before that they will be presenting in this session. Please also make sure the presenters email address is on the poster so that interested people can make contact. The presenter must present data as indicated on the poster if selected for a flash poster presentation.

Poster removal: Authors are responsible for the removal of their poster by no later than 18:00 on Friday 4th October 2019.

Poster size: Posters should be made in portrait orientation, maximum size DIN A0 (118.9 cm high, 84.1 cm wide). If your poster does not match these dimensions we cannot guarantee that it will fit the poster boards. Each poster will be allocated a display number which will be given to you on the day. You will find pieces of Velcro on the poster boards. We recommend that you are by your poster to answer questions etc. during specific guided poster session times.

Early career and first time prize nominations: Poster presenters who are eligible for the young presenter and/or first time presenter awards will obtain the necessary marks for their posters at the registration desk or they may already be on the poster board on arrival. Applicants should be in training and not yet in a definite established position. The maximum age for applicants is 40 years old, indicated during abstract submission.
